A sister in Christ and I were visiting; chatting about our lives and families. We have both been blessed by godly husbands who work hard and have stuck with us year after year despite all of our shortcomings. Our conversation made my heart swell with gratitude to God for my husband. The sacrifices this man has made for his family are heroic. His life alone is a miracle as he is a brain tumor survivor. Not everything in our married life has been joyful and happy. We have had our fair share of struggles, turmoil, hurt, and forgiveness. But God is with us. He is the center of our home. He has taught us to love one another as best we can and He fills in the rest with forgiveness and grace.
On this Father’s Day, I praise God in heaven for godly men.
They are the men who get up early every day and head off to work.
They are the men who fear God and pray for their families each and every day.
They are the men who love and support their wives to be godly women.
They are the men who raise their children to love the Lord and to follow Jesus.
They are the men who remain humble and teachable allowing God to continue to work in their lives, even in the later years.
They are the men who have less so that their families and others may have more.
They are the men whom neighbors and friends call when they need help.
They love God, their country and their homes.
They are the men that have made America great.
Thank You Lord for these men in our lives. Thank You Lord for our grandfathers, fathers and husbands who know You and follow Your ways. May we be always grateful for their presence. Help us to be an encouragement and a blessing to them in their lives in return. Amen.

For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the LORD by doing righteousness and justice, so that the LORD may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.”(Genesis 18:19 ESV)
In the fear of the LORD one has strong confidence, and his children will have a refuge. (Proverbs 14:26 ESV)
