He Hears Our Prayers

Heart HandsI’ve prayed for some loved ones for YEARS and I’ll continue to pray on their behalf.  However, a friend of mine once said that he’ll ask a thing, a particular prayer request, of God once and after that believe that it has been resolved (in God’s time and to His glory).

Isaiah 65:24

Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear.

Daniel 10:12

Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words.

John 9:31

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

1 John 5:13-15

I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

This morning I read a devotional from Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.  In it she states (as if God is speaking to us):

“When you bring Me prayer requests, lay out your concerns before me.  Speak to Me candidly; pour out your heart. Then thank Me for the answers that I have set into motion long before you can discern results.  When your requests come to mind again, continue to thank Me for the answers that are on the way.”

Continual repetition of our concerns to God leaves us in a state of tension.  Sister, God hears our prayers.  Take comfort in the fact that God is sovereign over all things, He hears you, and He wills to give good gifts to His children.  The Holy Spirit comforts us and strengthens us while we wait on God.  Believe in your heart and know in your head that God has it all under control even when you don’t.
